Here's the plot: "Two centuries after Dr. It is up to Adam to discover his inner humanity and the reason for his continued existence.
While still a boy, Abraham Lincoln loses his mother to a vampire's bite. He vows revenge, but fails in the attempt, narrowly escaping with his life.
He is rescued by Henry Dominic Cooper , a charisma Henry Frankenstein is a doctor who is trying to discover a way to make the dead walk. He succeeds and creates a monster that has to deal with living again.
Though not as spectacular as one would expect of such a classic, this loose interpretation of Mary Shelley's oft-told tale delivers. The familiar story focuses on Dr.
Victor Frankenstein, the reclusive, stereotypical mad scientist obsessed with creating new life from stitched-together corpses.
But something goes terribly wrong when the brain he uses turns out to be that of a criminal. The film starts out slow but redeems itself with time, particularly the windmill climax scene that by standards is nothing short of stellar.
In one of filmdom's all-time great performances, Boris Karloff plays the monster as a sort of tragic figure unable to comprehend right from wrong, and the audience is left feeling more sympathetic than frightened by him.

Carrie Ann Moss what were you thinking? The monster spends most of the movie with bloody sputum dribbling out his mouth from people who misunderstand him beating him up.
The "Monster's" narration from some "core" that still could eloquently put together prose-like soliloquies made no sense. Plot devices were amateurish.
It was awful. Mary Shelley is spinning in her grave. They may have started with the thought of Frankenstein This is not it! A lab experiment gone extremely bad.

Kills again, leaves again with a body and actually knows how to start a fire with a Bic lighter. An insult to the science fiction community and my apologies to Mary Shelly's Frankenstein.
Just a terrible movie, I will never get back the time I wasted on it. I read the other reviews and it looks like they are reviewing a totally different movie.
The other reviews act as if this is the 's version, but it is most definitely not. It is more closely related to a 's genetics lab than the Frankenstein laboratory.
It is boring drivel. The "monster" is not scary, he is pathetic. He is simply a genetic experiment that went wrong when the genome went cancerous instead of being normal.
The acting is flimsy at best. It looks more like the actors are reading the script for the very first time, then pausing to think about how to say their parts and THEN doing the "lack of acting".
The idea of updating to a modern genetics cloning monster instead of a sewn together patchwork is good but the carry out of the movie is excruciatingly horrible.
The only thing scary about this movie is that they dared publish it! So these reviews were obviously not for the movie described here. Whomever works at Amazon and is in charge of putting this with that either nodded off on a Monday morning or was in a rush to leave on a Friday afternoon.
That being said I gave it a watch and found it to be as bad as I expected it to be. I guess the big name actors in this movie must have lost a bet somewhere down the line.
Just in a modern setting. I was very apprehensive about this movie, but it is really good. Very sweet at times. During the latter part of the film the monster is doing voice-over

Selbst wer die Ankündigungen von Netflix sehr.Gene Wilder's masterpiece! I'm not rating this lower than the 5 stars it deserves Blazing Saddles 40th anniversary edition did have some additional features and upgraded image but not this movie sadly.
Verified Purchase. There have been many people before me who has praised this Mel Brook's work of art of "Young Frankenstein". I'm only echoing what everybody has said about this movie.
Gene Wilder is a delight. The choice to film it in black and white gives its charm. I love how Mel Brook's keeps some of the Gothic element of what the author Mary Shelley wrote for her book Frankenstein.
Essentially, this movie is a parody based on of the s film adaptation of her novel. It's a trifecta of sorts. All in all, a great film to watch and have in your collection.
I can't find those words on the Blu-ray version's slip cover. See attached photo of slip cover from that actually says, "40th Anniversary Edition.
Beautiful film-making to go with the madness. The cast is great. Gene Wilder, while always being very funny, creates a young Frankenstein who seems almost like a real human being, and who we actually feel for in some scenes.
BTW - It's worth getting the blu-ray for the wonderful cinematography and production design. I believe this is Mel Brooks' best.
It pokes fun at the old horror movies but with an affectionate twinkle in the eye. Sure, it's camp but not campy except for Marty Feldman who is terrific as the audience's surrogate.
The cast shows restraint by not going over the top and is funnier for it. Frau Blucher could have been a throwaway character but the reaction from the horses and her pained expression is perhaps the most mimicked part from the film.
Gene Wilder is at his best from beginning to end and when he grandly re-pronounces his name I'm torn between laughter and cheers! By some accounts, Young Frankenstein is the magnum opus of Gene Wilder's diverse and broad assembly of performances.
I would agree with this, and under the masterful direction of Mel Brooks we find the cast carefully executes flawless humor and captivates us with a wild and uncanny take on the Frankenstein legend.
While some of the scenes are inappropriate for young viewers, their parents and older children will be laughing out loud and fondly wishing that Gene Wilder made more films.
Years of watching and laughing, always finding something new to laugh at! This movie is a classic!
I remember a few years ago, I was in a Dominos pizza place ordering. The person behind the oven had an attitude.
The guy behind the cash register stated his coworker was abnormal. Well, that's all I needed to hear and the next thing you know, we were quoting parts of this movie and laughing about his coworker being abi normal along with other quips!
A classic movie loved by many! You should see it! One person found this helpful. Was it ein swanstucker ll? Couldn't find it in my German dictionary.
I pull this one out every year at Halloween! It still makes me laugh with delight! Can't forget when Homer Simpson was chauffeuring Mel Brooks and commented on this film saying 'Scared the he'll out of me!

It is a pastiche of the old Universal Frankenstein films from the s and s. I have always loved this film and it never fails to make me laugh when I watch it.
Gene Wilder is hilarious as "Fronkonsteen" and Marty Feldman is also very funny as Igor, his hunchbacked assistant.
The film is generally done very well and I recognised most of the references to the old films when I watched this. Gene Hackman also pops up as the blind old hermit in another very funny scene and Peter Boyle is a hoot as the monster.
I also liked Madeleine Kahn and Teri Garr in the two female lead roles, both of whom played their parts very well.
All in all, this is an excellent comedy and one of Mel Brook's best films. Forget Blazing Saddles, this is much funnier.
If you loved the old Universal Frankenstein films, then you'll love this. Five stars from me. A true classic and a very funny film.
Lovingly made in black and white , knee deep in classic comedy performers. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

During the latter part of the film the monster is doing voice-over What he is thinking because he cannot talk The book was written by Mary Shelly in , so it is over years old.
Mary Shelly is the wife of the famous author and poet Percy Shelly. He is considered to be one of the greatest Romantic Poet in the English language.
He was cremated on the beach after his body washed ashore British Law In his pocket he had a small book of poems by Keats.
Mary went on to do more writing and died 29 years later at 51 years old. Mary did re-marry and had a daughter. Definitely worth the money.

Not that this isn't a classic, perhaps thee most famous classic horror. I first saw this standing in for my brother who was supposed to be the projectionist, me being eleven or such.
