If what you want are endless jump-out-of-your-seat scares, look elsewhere. This is the sort of story that leaves you with an unsettling chill, though it does supply a few good scary moments.
More "Turn of the Screw" than "Poltergeist. Great movie. I was totally drawn into a few of the actors especially the two young girls because they were so good at acting.
Story was drawn out a bit some parts, but it didn't bother me that much. Not necessarily Ju-On or Ringu level scary, but it was still a good watch.
I saw a few reviews that said there weren't any subtitles. Either those people are new to Prime Video, or they're a little confused and don't know where to navigate to get it.
If you want subtitles you have to turn it on manually. Depending on what device you're watching on, you either have to click on the video when its playing or move your cursor around and click on the message box next to the Settings that says "Subtitles and Audio" and there you'll find the English subtitles.
Really loved the special effects on the shaman, as well as the editing and sound sequences. It really built the suspense.
The main character, the mother, is a very relatable character in the beginning and the end. There was a point where I got annoyed with her dramatics, but given her backstory, her actions are understandable.
It was very sweet, sad, and scary movie : Perfect movie night with my friends. This movie did a lot of things right despite English being by only language.
Good acting, story, and decent scares. The only major issue I had was the one made on the stairway at the end of the movie. I sat there begging the character not to make that most expected of mistakes.
It's really more of my dislike for cliches than an actual problem with the movie. The final mistake is telegraphed throughout the movie so in context it does make sense however I would have been more surprised and equally heartbroken had the character decided to leave.

Both he and his abused daughter, the girl in red, could imitate voices. The blind woman urged Hee-yeon to return to the house.
Joon-hee hides in the kennel and is helped by the girl in red. Hee-yeon returns home and shuts Joon-hee in her room with the wreath.
She asks the girl to guide her to Min-ho in the cave. In the cave, Hee-yeon is driven to a panic by voices and chased by Jangsanbum into an area full of mirrors.
Min-ho, now blind, shows up and helps her by breaking the largest mirror. Hee-yeon, now mostly blind, leaves Joon-hee behind and reaches the cave opening with Min-ho, as Joon-hee cries out in various voices.
Hee-yeon returns to Joon-hee upon hearing her son's voice. The plot is inspired by the South Korean urban legend of the Jangsan Tiger, a man-eating creature that roams around Jangsan , a mountain in the city of Busan.
It is rumored to have sharp teeth and white fur and moves swiftly through mountains and lures people by making a sound that resembles a woman's wail.
