Not worth the effort when sound is a big part of an action adventure in HD. Many of the stream options will even list the entire current sporting event live streams, by their times.

Even when I saw the movie Exodus during the 60's, I still did not appreciate the historical significance but I remember that I really enjoyed the movie and it gave me a better idea of the suffering of the Jewish people and how dedicated they were to keep their identity and their Jewish heritage intact.
Also, it gave me an appreciation for how much they have been persecuted, yet willing to suffer to maintain their culture.
Many of our politicians, professors, lawyers, law enforcement leaders, etc make their opinions and decisions about Israel and the Jewish people while being ignorant of its history.
Viewing the movie could be a good start in "catching up". Even more important, what happened in was foretold by Ezekiel the prophet in Ezekiel I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land.

This then makes the story, plotline and developments somewhat slow. Unfortunate, as this film represents an important part of both Jewish and world history.

Since this is a product review, first off a few words about the DVD. The film is presented in a letterbox version for old TV sets.
Which means you get a small picture with broad black edges on all four sides on a modern widescreen set. If you use a zoom function the picture quality suffers.
Also the bottom half of the subtitles if you need them is cut off. Overall picture and sound quality are perfectly adequate for a film from the time.

Even the solid perfomances of such ever delightful big screen stars as Paul Newman and Eva Marie Saint, ably supported by the likes of Hugh Griffith, Ralph Richardson and many mnore, could not keep my mind from wandering after the first hour.
Despite all efforts of filmmakers and actors, this film does not quite live up to the book it's based on. Still, if you like the stars or have an interest in the subject matter you could do far worse on a long slow night.

I cannot recommend Brian Cranston s performance of Trumbo highly enough. As of Exodus a film I never even heard of. Paul Newman and Eva Marie Saint are solid and believable performance.
I don't normally go for political films but while on a forced sick leave this film past away an afternoon very nicely.
Nice to have this one in my library now and a good companion to Trumbo. I have to forward it to make it start and miss chunks of the film.
